[ 02 — Capabilities ]

One person.
The whole stack.

No handoff between design, API and infrastructure. The same person scopes the problem, ships the system and stays around to operate it.

Assistants that do a job.

Voice receptionists, grading, generation and retrieval — with the cost gates and guardrails that make them viable in production.

How I work ↗

/About.

I build products
people actually
use.

I’m Kevin Coto, a full stack solutions architect based in Dubai. I build cloud native systems and AI products for hospitality, fintech, healthcare, learning and real estate.

My work spans enterprise and civic platforms — digital harm reporting for South African elections, healthcare analytics for the Americas, payment infrastructure at Careem — and smaller products that ship, like a voice receptionist, an AI native learning platform and a bilingual rental site.

AWS Certified. Polyglot by necessity: Python for APIs, TypeScript for product surfaces, Elixir where concurrency matters. I write down the decisions.

01

Systems over screens

Start from the data, the failure modes and the cost envelope. Then design the interface that makes the system legible.

02

Boring where it counts

Payments, auth and data should be predictable. Save the novelty for the interaction layer, where people feel it.

03

Make it observable

If it cannot be measured, traced and explained, it is not finished. Logs and docs are part of the product.

[ 06 — Process & FAQ ]

From first call
to first release.

A small, direct process. No account managers, no handoff deck, no mystery about what happens next.

  1. 01

    Scope

A short call, the real constraint, and a written plan with a fixed shape.

  2. 02

    Design

Flows, interface and data model together — so nothing gets lost in translation.

  3. 03

    Build

Small, reviewable increments. You see it running before it is finished.

  4. 04

    Ship & observe

Deploy, measure, document. Then fix what the real world reveals.

Common questions

01 What kind of projects do you take on? +

Product builds, rescues and platform work where the interface, the API and the infrastructure all matter. Recent examples include an AI voice receptionist, a spaced repetition learning platform and a bilingual real estate site.

02 Do you work with existing codebases? +

Yes. A lot of the work is inherited systems: untangling a slow API, replacing a fragile deployment, or adding AI to a product without rewriting it from scratch. I start by mapping what is there and what is safe to change.

03 How do you price work? +

Fixed scope for well defined builds, or a weekly rate for ongoing product work. You get a written scope, milestones and a clear handover. No surprise invoices.

04 Can you work across time zones? +

I am based in Dubai (GST) and have worked with teams across Europe, Africa, Latin America and the US. Async first, with a short overlap window for decisions that need a conversation.
